Superficial chemical resurfacing treatments are designed to increase cell turnover & exfoliate the skin; unclogging pores and removing dead skin cells that can contribute to breakouts. These treatments can also reduce inflammation and diminish the appearance of scars, leaving the skin smoother and more even-toned.
Furthermore, superficial chemical resurfacing treatments help increase the effectiveness of topical medications and medical-grade skin care.

Superficial chemical resurfacing options include Glycolic, Mandelic, Jessner, Salicyclic acid peels at varying concentration. With each treatment, these peels can be increased in strength or combined with each other to improve acne.

Though chemical peeling and chemical resurfacing are often used interchangeably, the peeling from superficial treatments is generally mild. Due to the gradual nature of these peels, it is recommended to have at minimum 4-6 treatments to achieve desired results.

Medium-depth chemical resurfacing
Medium-depth chemical resurfacing adds deeper resurfacing options to help with acne along with acne scars and blemishes. With similar benefits to superficial peels, these treatments work deeper in the skin to create a more dramatic effect.
